What is "grey"?
Greige is a color that is a mixture of gray and beige. Depending on how the two colors are blended, some shades of gray may appear more beige and some shades more grey.
As a paint color, gray is becoming increasingly popular with homeowners and designers because it's versatile, neutral, and easy to pair with many different styles.
Why should I choose gray color?
If you're looking to paint your walls, gray is a color to consider for many reasons.
First, the gray color goes well with most splashes of color. As they straddle the line between gray and beige, they are the perfect neutral.
Second, greige lacquer makes a statement without being loud. Among the colors of gray paint there are super light colors to very dark ones. For a subtle, neutral look, a light color works wonders for updating a room. For a dramatic, bold look, a dark gray makes the room stand out without being bright.
Thirdly, they are very popular. Greige paint colors are best sellers from all major paint companies, including Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore.
Here are some of the most popular gray colors to help you decide which color is right for your home.
Best Greige Nail Polish Colors by Sherwin Williams
Pleasant Gray is a beautiful gray paint color owned by Sherwin Williams and perhaps only her.most popular color ever🇧🇷 It's a mix of gray and beige, leaning a bit more towards gray with hints of yellow undertones.
In a room with bright white LED lighting or lots of natural light, it looks a little grayer. In a room with incandescent or warm LED light, the beige in Agreeable Gray will stand out more.
Pleasant gray has an LRV (Light Reflectance Value) of 60, which means it reflects a lot of light. While Sherwin Williams places it in the "light" category of his colors, I would say it's more of a light midtone.
Because it's a warm paint color, soft gray serves as a great background for other warm tones. Works well in any or all rooms in your home.
I've used Comforting Gray in several homes and it's been great in all of them. It goes well with white or wood paneling and is the perfect light color to add a little interest to a room without going overboard.

Repose Gray (SW 7015) is another extremely popular gray.
It is often recommended by real estate agents when selling a home because of its popularity. Compared to Agreeable Grey, it will look more like a royal grey, although it will definitely contain beige and hints of purple tones.
The Repose Gray has an LRV of 58 and again I would call it a light midtone. It pairs well with wood and white finishes and works just as well with bright accents as it does with other neutral colors.
Similar to Comforting Gray, Repose Gray can be used in any room in your home. Click here for aFull review of Repose Grey.

Mindful Gray sits just below Repose Gray on the Sherwin Williams color wheel and has similar undertones.
However, Mindful Gray is darker and appears to have a touch more beige than Repose Grey.
Mindful Gray has an LRV of 48, and while it's still considered very reflective, it's darker than the other two grays listed above. It is also truly a gray color and carries the versatility that most gray colors have.
Mindful Gray can be used in any room of the house, but unlike Agreeable Gray and Repose Grey, I find it a little too dark to be the only color used in a house. I prefer using it in a large room or a room with lots of natural light.

Mega Greige is a dark gray paint color very similar to Agreeable Gray. It's a good mix of gray and beige, but it prefers a little more beige than some on this list.
The Mega Greige has an LRV of 37, which is the "intermediate" range of Sherwin Williams colors.
However, my personal opinion is that Mega Greige is a very dark wall color. I like it as an accent wall or in a room where you want the walls to make a bold statement. I don't think it's a good choice for an overall paint color.
I used Mega Greige as a color coordinated with Agreeable Gray in my entryway. It was the perfect dark gray that wasn't overpowering. To see Mega Greige in a room, clickthis link.

Accessible Beige is the most popular beige lacquer color at Sherwin Williams, and it is actually a gray lacquer color.
Accessible Beige is a warm nail polish color that heavily favors beige but includes hints of gray to keep it from looking too brown.
Accessible Beige has an LRV of 58, which means it reflects a good amount of light. Accessible beige is a good color for common areas in a home, but it's a slightly less current shade of gray than the others on this list.

Colonnade Gray is a gray paint color that looks more like a true gray than a beige.
Compared to other greiges, the Colonnade is significantly lighter.
Colonnade Gray has an LRV of 53 which I classify as a light medium tone. While it has a little more depth than the popular Agreeable Grey, Repose Gray and Accessible Beige, it won't make the room feel any smaller.
I used Colonnade on a finished basement and it was a great mid tone. If you want something that gives you a little punch without being dark, Colonnade Gray is a solid choice.

Edgecomb Gray is a soft, warm lacquer color that tends toward beige rather than gray. It looks almost creamy (but not yellow) in a bright room, but looks more grayish in a less lit room.
Edgecomb Gray has an LRV of 63, which means it's one of the lightest colors on this list. It is perfect for any room in the house.
I currently have Edgecomb Gray in my dining room and hallways.
It's my favorite color - perfectly light and slightly beige, but the gray in it distracts from being too beige. It looks gray in the evening light, but in the sunlight it's the perfect light grey.

Revere Pewter is a very popular Benjamin Moore Gray nail polish color chosen by homeowners and designers alike. It's on almost every list of the most popular gray colors (although it's a gray).
Revere Pewter is a little more beige than gray, but it's a nice neutral shade that can suit any room in the house.
With an LRV of 55, I rate Revere Pewter as a light medium finish color.

Pale Oak is another beautiful soft gray shade by Benjamin Moore.
Pale Oak has an LRV of 70, putting it on the lighter end of the gray spectrum. Some even classify Pale Oak as "white" because it's so light. Pale Oak is similar to Edgecomb Gray but less pronounced on its walls.
Pale Oak has more beige tones than gray and soft yellow.

Balboa Mist is a nice light color in True Greige. It has beige and gray tones in fairly similar amounts.

A few words about lighting and gray color:
North-facing rooms: In a north-facing room, the cool tones of a color will seem stronger. Dark paint colors look darker and light paint colors look softer.
South-facing rooms: In a south-facing room, the light is warm and more intense. Dark colors look lighter and light colors feel soft and open.
West facing rooms: West facing rooms have cooler light in the morning and warmer light in the evening. This creates more shadows in the morning, making paint colors appear softer. Choose your hue for the time of day when the room is most used.
East facing rooms: East facing rooms have warmer light in the early part of the day and cooler light at night. Again, a good rule of thumb is to choose a color based on when you're likely to use the space.
Incandescent Light Bulbs: Incandescent light bulbs emit a yellow light, warming the colors in a room. Edison bulbs are a type of incandescent bulb that typically glow bright yellow or amber, adding even more warmth to the color.
Fluorescent lamps: Fluorescent lamps emit a cool light. They emphasize the green and blue tones of the paint color.
LED lamps: LED lamps can be warm or cold. A warm LED bulb will bring out the reds, oranges and yellows in your paint color, while a cool LED bulb will bring out the blues and greens.
Halogen lamps: Halogen lamps emit a warm, yellowish light similar to daylight. They make your paint color look bolder.
